TARA:
I love my kids, my cats, and how being creative allows self expression with no limits. If I have the privilege of teaching a class you take, I will never tell you what you are doing is wrong because there is no wrong when it comes to art. I want you to walk away remembering the fun you had, and feeling satisfied about the artwork you created.

JOSILYN:
Howdy! I’m a twenty-two-year-old college graduate going into higher education for my Masters in Library Science. Not Art… I know. Art was my first passion and the answer to all of the“ What do you want to be when you grow up?” questions were always the same. An Artist. I have been painting since before I can even remember. My medium: Acrylic on canvas. <3

HEATHER:
Hi, I’m a college student here at Sam Houston state. I’m a criminal justice major and I plan on getting my masters in victim services. I’m a big arts and crafts lover from pottery to junk scrapbooking to crocheting. If it’s a craft I’ve most likely have tried it and loved it. I love being able to encourage people to bring out their inner creativity.

SYDNEY:
Hi there! I am 22 years old and I graduated with a Bachelor's in Animation! I have been in art classes since I was seven, and I enjoy all mediums. I love working with kids, and I am pursuing an alternative teaching certification to become an Art Teacher! I love to encourage others to create and learn, and make an environment where they feel uplifted and welcomed.

SHELLI:
Owner • Artist • Instructor
A local to the area and proud Sam Houston State University graduate, I created Cork & Canvas as a welcoming space where anyone can relax, get creative, and leave with art they love — no experience required.

MARILYN:
Hi everyone! I moved to Huntsville with my family in January, 2025. I am a wife and a blessed Mom to 2 incredible boys, born in 2008 and 2012, and a beautiful little girl born in March 2025 (you read that right, I have a son who is about to be an adult, and a baby).I am a full time fire and theft claims adjuster, so by all means, hand me a paintbrush and watch me relax. I started doing art in middle school as a way to visualize my thoughts and feelings. It evolved over the years into a passion for creating.
